Bert and Betty*Bonded Pair, must be adopted together
Bert: 3 years old 14lbs Shihtzu Beige with black Betty: 4 years old 9lbs Shihitzu Beige with black Meet Bert & Betty: These two were found as strays, having clearly endured some tough conditions. Despite their rough start, Bert and Betty are full of love, resilience, and personality. They are a bonded pair and must be adopted together; their connection is something truly special. You’ll often catch them grooming each other at the end of the day, with Bert sweetly cleaning Betty’s face before she returns the favor. While they get along with other dogs, Bert and Betty would likely thrive best as the only pups in the home. They can sometimes “team up” and try to outmatch other dogs, especially smaller or more timid ones. That said, they coexist well with calm, confident dogs who don’t engage. Their personalities couldn’t be more different: Bert is your classic lovebug. He wants to greet every person and pup on walks and quickly becomes everyone’s best friend. He’s happiest curled up on your lap, soaking up affection. He truly just wants to be loved and be your loyal companion. Betty is a bit more independent but just as endearing. During the day, she enjoys relaxing in a cozy spot, but in the early mornings and evenings, she turns into a snuggly sweetheart. Don’t let her size fool you; she’s got impressive stamina and could happily walk for miles on a nice day. They both love toys, enjoy playtime, and have wonderful temperaments with people of all ages. Bert and Betty are doing well with structure and routine. They are housebroken and making great progress with crate training. Continued positive reinforcement will help them keep building confidence when left in their crates. They are still working on leash skills, especially Betty, who can get a bit adventurous, so they’ll benefit from continued guidance and consistency.
