OreoSchnauzer/Australian Cattle Dog (Blue Heeler) mix - sheds a little
Female Black, white and grey 30 pounds 1 year old OREO is such a love pup! At only one year old, she is nearly a perfect family pet. She's completely potty trained and will go to the door when she needs to go out. She knows sit, down and has good recall. OREO walks well on a leash, is good in the car and sleeps in her crate at night. She's playful, loves to play fetch with rope toys and enjoys de-stuffing toys. She can even catch a fly in mid air! OREO is extremely protective of her property and people. She follows you around to keep you safe. OREO is picky about who she likes and must be properly introduced to strangers or guests. It takes her longer to warm up to men but eventually she does. Once she knows you she's an affectionate snuggler and enjoys belly rubs. OREO has been going to training to help her be more accepting of strangers. OREO loves other dogs and would love a playmate. She has been around horses, goats and cats on a leash, but off the leash, true to her breed's traits and characteristics, her inclination to herd is very strong. It is the same for smaller kids so older kids are best for her. OREO is purpose driven and needs focused activity-otherwise she gets bored and will make her own fun. She would make an ideal hiking partner or a great candidate for agility training. An owner who understands her breed's traits will help to give OREO the full, happy and active life she deserves.
