Although you might be wondering why a lab is featured on our poodle rescue site, Mia's journey began when rescue associates urgently requested our assistance in rescuing a toy poodle from a heartbreaking hoarding situation in Western Maryland. There was no question in our minds—Mia and her poodle companion would embark on a new chapter together. The conditions they endured were beyond imagination, surviving for months with the help of a compassionate Samaritan providing a daily meal. The moment Mia entered the car, something magical happened. During the three-hour journey back to the trainer's farm, where they found refuge, Mia, this incredible lab, rested her head on my shoulder and occasionally graced me with gentle cheek licks. It was as if she knew she was on her way to a better life. Although initially placed in an adoptive home, Mia faced challenges as the other dog in the household did not accept her. However, Mia's resilience shines through. She's not just a lab; she's the sweetest, kindest, and most loving girl. Mia's affection knows no bounds—she adores people, kids, and even our feline friends. While she's crate-trained, she prefers the freedom to explore. Housebroken and well-mannered, Mia finds joy in cuddling on laps, offering the most heartwarming kisses, and going on leisurely walks. She has mastered commands like sitting and possesses a unique talent for "talking" or telling stories. Mia is more than just an amazing dog; she embodies resilience, love, and hope. Her unwavering spirit makes her an ideal companion for anyone seeking a furry friend whose heart is as boundless as her affection.
